Face Fresh

Face Fresh sells 38 products across seven ranges, and the listings you find scattered across marketplaces will not tell you the difference between any of them. This page will. The seven ranges are not good, better and best — they are seven different formulas built for seven different complaints.

Which Face Fresh Range Do You Need?

Beauty — the original line, and where most people should start

The Face Fresh Beauty range is the plain, unmodified original: no fairness prefix, no gold, no men's. Worth knowing, because seven different creams in this catalogue have the words "Beauty Cream" on the label and people buy the wrong one constantly.

The cream is the product the whole catalogue is built around. Seven separate ingredients act on tone — kojic acid dipalmitate, licorice, mulberry extract, niacinamide, alpha arbutin, ascorbyl glucoside and glutathione — which is more than any other single cream we make. Mulberry extract appears here and nowhere else. Buy the 7 gm size of the original cream first: tone actives take months to show anything, so the small jar exists to tell you how your skin handles the formula before you commit to 35 grams.

The bar uses free kojic acid rather than the ester, which makes it more direct, less stable and more likely to sting — it also browns over time, which is the ingredient degrading in plain sight. See the kojic acid bar. The serum goes last, over everything else, because beeswax and dimethicone make it an occlusive that seals whatever is underneath it; applied first it blocks the rest of your routine. Read the beauty serum. For the body, the three-job body lotion is the only lotion we make that draws water, smooths and seals — it contains milk protein, a dairy allergen nobody checks for in a body lotion.

Fairness — a full routine, and three of its six products do the same job

Six products covering every step, which is also why it is the easiest range to over-buy. Cream, beauty cream and serum are all leave-on face products with heavy overlap. Pick one, not three.

Alpha arbutin leads the Fairness Cream's ingredient list, with kojic acid dipalmitate, argireline, niacinamide and ascorbyl glucoside behind it. Zinc oxide and titanium dioxide give an immediate optical brightening that washes off — worth knowing so you can tell the day-one effect apart from the slow one. In a 70 gm jar or a 25 gm tube: see the fairness cream. The 23 gm fairness tube is broadly the same formula plus glutathione and lanolin alcohol, so if you own one you do not need the other — and note the lanolin if you have ever reacted to a wool-derived ingredient.

The 3 ml serum goes underneath a cream, not over it — it is water-thin with no oil or wax in it at all. See the fairness serum. For cleansing, pick one: the 100 gm fairness bar or the 60 ml fairness face wash, which is noticeably gentler thanks to its glucoside surfactant. The 400 ml fairness lotion is the range's only body product.

Gold Plus — the strongest thing we make, in one formula out of seven

The three acids this range is known for — glycolic, salicylic and azelaic — are in the standalone jar cream, and in the same cream inside one pack. The soap, face wash, serum, lotion and the 4-in-1 pack's cream contain no acid at all. Buying "the Gold Plus range" does not mean buying seven strong products.

The jar cream comes with a schedule rather than a promise: twice weekly to begin with, nights only, sunscreen the next morning, never alongside another exfoliant. No percentages are printed for any of the three acids, which is exactly why the instructions matter more than the claims. In 225 gm, 30 gm, 23 gm and 7 gm — read the three-acid cream before buying.

Do not start there. The 4 in 1 pack contains a completely different cream — no acids, plus shea and cocoa butter — which makes it the gentle way into the range, and nothing on the box says so. The gold plus bar is the mildest soap we make, with no SLS and no free acids: the replacement if the Beauty soap was too harsh. The gold plus serum hydrates, and hydrated skin makes fine lines look shallower within the hour — a real effect that resets overnight.

One honest note on the name: no product in the Gold Plus range lists gold in its ingredients. Gold Plus refers to the tier. The gold is in the 24K Gold Ampoule.

Cleanser — for marks that are already there

Three products aimed at freckles, post-spot darkening and old blemishes rather than at active breakouts. Two of the three rinse away within a minute; the third stays on your skin and is where nearly all the work happens.

Kojic acid dipalmitate is the first ingredient in the Cleanser Cream — an unusual place for the most expensive active in the catalogue — in a cold-cream base with no detergent in it. If you buy one thing from this range, buy the cleanser cream. The cleanser face wash carries the same actives in rinse-off form, with salicylic acid sitting fifteenth of eighteen, below the preservative; at that position it is built for what a spot leaves behind rather than for the spot. The cleanser bar contains none of the range's actives at all, which makes it the bar to use when your skin has had enough of something else.

Whitening — the only range organised by your skin rather than by the routine

Three 100 gm bars and one face wash. The bars share one base and the same two tone actives, niacinamide and alpha arbutin, in the same positions — so the tone results are identical across all three and what you are actually choosing is comfort.

Wash with plain water, wait an hour, then look. Shiny across the forehead and nose: the oily skin bar, which adds aloe vera gel and zinc oxide. Tight or flaky: the dry skin bar, which adds petrolatum and almond oil as superfatting agents — note the almond oil if you have a nut allergy. Neither: the normal skin bar, the base formula unmodified.

The whitening face wash contains no whitening ingredient — no arbutin, no niacinamide, no kojic acid. What it does have is rarer: it is the only sulphate-free, soap-free cleanser in the entire Face Fresh catalogue, which makes it the mildest cleanse we sell. See the sulphate-free wash.

Men's — four products, and most men need two

What makes a men's cream a men's cream is not the chemistry. It is that a blade mechanically exfoliates the same skin two to six times a week, which changes how fast an active gets in and how much it stings.

The cream and one cleanser is the whole routine. Wash first, shave second, wait about ten minutes, then the cream — freshly shaved skin has just been exfoliated, and putting an active straight onto it is how the stinging starts. Read the men's cream, then pick either the men's face wash (the easier default, though its five cleansing systems can leave skin tight) or the men's bar, which is a face bar sold at shower-bar size — use it on your body and the actives go down the drain. The men's lotion is the odd one out: alcohol denat sits fourth, which is why it vanishes in seconds and also why genuinely dry skin ends up tighter. It works as a post-shave balm, not as a face treatment.

Ampoules — eight answers to eight questions, not a routine

Eight 5 ml single-ingredient concentrates. Use one at a time and give it a proper run; three layered together dilutes contact and multiplies the chance of a reaction.

Start with the hyaluronic acid ampoule if your skin reacts easily — it is the only one not trying to change anything. The retinol ampoule is the strongest, and tolerance is the whole product: retinol sits eleventh, below the preservative, with niacinamide third, because what your skin accepts over months beats what is in the bottle. For a single stubborn dark patch, the L-glutathione ampoule, with the caveat that the alpha arbutin above it is probably doing more of the work. For oil and redness, the anti-acne ampoule — eleven ingredients with no acids and no oils, which makes it good at calming and not an acne treatment.

One thing to know before you buy two: the Vitamin C and 24K Gold ampoules share the same base, and the gold one adds gold dust to it. Buy one, not both.

FAQs

Who actually makes Face Fresh?

Face Fresh is manufactured by Shaheen Cosmetics. The company's catalogue records Emerging Brand of the Year awards from Brand Award Pakistan in 2010, 2012 and 2013, and it has been producing this line for well over a decade.

How do I know I am buying a genuine Face Fresh product?

Buy from this site or an authorised stockist. Face Fresh appears on a lot of third-party marketplace listings, and once a product has passed through several resellers there is no way to confirm its age, storage or authenticity from a listing photograph.

What is the difference between the Beauty range and the Fairness range?

Both work on tone. The Beauty Cream carries seven tone actives to the Fairness Cream's five and adds mulberry extract; the Fairness range is built as a complete routine including a body lotion, where Beauty is built around one strong cream.

Can I use products from two different ranges together?

Yes, with one caution. Ranges mix fine as a routine — a Beauty soap with a Fairness cream is no problem. What you should not stack is the Gold Plus jar cream with the retinol ampoule: that is two exfoliating steps on one night.

Which Face Fresh product is the strongest?

The Gold Plus Beauty Cream, the only one carrying three exfoliating acids. Strongest is not best — it is also the most likely to sting, peel or leave skin sun-sensitive, and the wrong first purchase for most people.

Does Face Fresh change your natural skin colour?

No, and nothing sold here is designed to. Tone actives slow the enzyme that produces pigment, which fades marks and evens out patchiness. Your baseline colour is not what is being altered, and it returns once you stop.

Which Face Fresh products should I wear sunscreen with?

All of them, the Gold Plus range especially. Acids leave skin temporarily more sun-sensitive, and every tone active works against pigment that sunlight is actively producing. Several formulas list a UV filter; none is SPF-tested, so none is sun protection.

Which range is best for dark spots specifically?

That depends on what caused the spot, not on which range is strongest. Sun spots, post-acne marks and hormonal pigmentation respond to different things — the guide to fading dark spots and pigmentation sorts it by cause and then names the product.

Is there a reason for a separate men's range?

Shaving, mostly. A blade exfoliates the same skin several times a week, which changes how fast an active gets in and how much it stings. The chemistry is not different — the men's cream and soap use the same actives as everything else.

Where can I buy Face Fresh?

Here, directly. Face Fresh is made in Pakistan and sold across the Gulf and internationally, and the catalogue lists contact numbers for both Pakistan and the UAE. Buying direct is also the only way to be certain of what is in the jar.
