What is the difference between dry and dehydrated skin?
Dry skin does not make enough oil — it feels rough, looks dull, flakes. Dehydrated skin does not hold enough water — it feels tight, looks crepey by evening, and happens on oily skin too. If your face is shiny by lunchtime but still tight, you are dehydrated.
Is this the best cream for dry skin?
For dryness in the strict sense, it is a strong option: petrolatum at position two is about as effective as sealing gets. For dehydration it is only half the answer. Any comparison that ignores which of the two you have will send you the wrong product.
Does it feel greasy?
Yes, initially. Petrolatum and beeswax are heavy by design. Used at night on damp skin, most of that has settled by morning. If you dislike the finish, use less than you think you need — most people apply two or three times more than a face requires, and the excess is what stays sticky.
Can I use it as an aloe vera cream for the face in the morning?
You can, with two adjustments. Use a very thin layer, and give it ten minutes before makeup or it will pill. The aloe is at position nine, so treat that as a small part of the formula rather than the reason to buy. It is a genuinely better night cream than a day one.
Is it an aloe vera moisturizing cream or a whitening cream?
Both, and neither is the lead. It is an occlusive moisturiser with five tone ingredients low on the list. The moisturising is what you will notice in the first week. The tone work — kojic acid dipalmitate, alpha arbutin, licorice, glutathione, ascorbyl glucoside — takes eight to twelve weeks before most people see anything.
Is it suitable for oily or acne-prone skin?
Probably not. Petrolatum itself does not block pores, but a heavy occlusive layer over skin that is already producing plenty of oil tends to feel unpleasant and can trap it. If your skin is oily and tight, you want hydration without the seal — a light serum will serve you better than a rich cream.
What is the best face cream for dry skin to use with this?
Nothing on top of it — it is the last step. Underneath is where the pairing happens: a water-based ampoule or serum first, this cream second. That combination covers both problems, which is what most people with genuinely uncomfortable skin actually have.
Does an 18g jar really last three months?
If you use a pea, yes — roughly ninety to a hundred nightly applications. If you scoop, six weeks. The texture encourages over-application because it does not spread easily at first, so warm it between your fingers before it touches your face.
